Accessibility

Effective August 29, 2026

AristAI is an academic video platform, and accessibility is one of the things it is for — recorded teaching that some students cannot hear, see, or operate is not teaching. We design and test the platform against WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

What the Platform Provides

  • Captions on published recordings, with an interactive transcript beside the player. Caption and transcript download is on by default and cannot be switched off below your school's administration.
  • Audio description tracks, where the school or creator has produced them, selectable in the player.
  • Full keyboard operation: every control is reachable and visibly focused, and the player's shortcuts are documented in its help panel.
  • Screen-reader support: landmarks, labels, and live announcements are part of the component contract, not an afterthought.
  • Respect for your system settings, including reduced motion, dark and light themes, and browser zoom to 400%.

Conformance Documentation

A VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) covering the current release is available to schools on request — ask your AristAI contact, or write to us at the address below.

Tell Us What Is Broken

If something on this platform does not work with your assistive technology, we want to know while it is still our bug and not your semester's problem. Use the Help or Send Feedback entry at the bottom of the navigation sidebar when you are signed in, or email support@aristai.video. Accessibility reports are triaged ahead of feature work.
